Jan Henderson interview

Few people have had such an interesting career in the outdoors as Jan Henderson, recently retired Forest Ecologist for the Mt. Baker Snoqualmie and Olympic National Forests. During his 32 years as Forest Ecologist, Henderson's work took him all over both of these forests, often into obscure and remote places seen by few others.

We recently interviewed him and will be publishing a few short excerpts of the interview here on the NCCC blog. The full interview will be published in the 2012 issues of The Wild Cascades. NCCC members get their copies of TWC by mail several weeks before it's posted on the NCCC website, so join us!

On climate change and so-called 'active management' of NW forests:
"If we knew what would be different about climate in the future, we'd have a chance of prescribing some 'active management' to anticipate such changes, but we don't."
